Dr. Talalay holds a degree in biophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and a medical degree from Yale University. He has devoted his entire career to cancer research, emphasizing early protection against cell damage.
Before a large crowd gathered in the Zises Cultural Center in the Tradition of The Palm Beaches, Dr. Talalay spoke about, “How We Can Protect Ourselves Against Cancer and Other Age Related Chronic Diseases.” His extensive presentation highlighted several diverse discussion points including 1)changes in U.S. age-adjusted mortality rates as it relates to cardiovascular diseases and cancer 2) magnitude of cancer and its related issues and 3)understanding the key(s) to preventing, arresting, reversing the ultimate disease(“cancer”).
Dr. Talalay expressed to the crowd at the onset, “Protection against disease is a lifelong process. New strategies against cancer are essential. My team and I will continue to devote our efforts in discovering and uncovering cancer truths and falsehoods in conjunction with communicating positive research results which we all can embrace or utilize in some fashion.”
Dr. Alan Sadowsky, Executive Director of the Institute for Geriatric Research commented, “It is indeed an honor for us to have Dr. Talalay on our campus. As a renowned cancer researcher, Dr. Talalay has been able to communicate in a very direct, succinct way what truly is involved in the areas he is researching, so we can start to make changes in our lives today in order to deal with the prevention, arresting and reversal of that dreaded demon called cancer. We look forward to ongoing discussions with Dr. Talalay and his colleagues at Johns Hopkins University to further explore areas of mutual research interests.”
