MORSELIFE ANNOUNCES DISTINGUISHED GUEST LECTURER

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (June 05, 2007) - MorseLife is proud to announce that Dr. Paul Talalay, the John Jacob Abel Distinguished Service Professor of Pharmacology and Director of the Laboratory for Molecular Sciences at John Hopkins University School of Medicine will speak on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 11:00am. The lecture will take place in the auditorium at the Tradition of The Palm Beaches (MorseLife) at 4920 Loring Drive, West Palm Beach. Dr. Talalay’s topic of discussion will be, “How Can We Protect Ourselves Against Cancer and Other Age Related Chronic Diseases.”

Dr. Alan Sadowsky, Executive Director of the Geriatric Institute for Research (at MorseLife) had this to say, “We are extremely fortunate and excited to have Dr. Talalay come to our campus to speak. He is a world-renowned cancer researcher and we are so pleased to have him join us for this lecture.”

Dr. Talalay holds a degree in biophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and a medical degree from Yale University. He has devoted his entire career to cancer research, emphasizing early protection against cell damage. As a pioneer in the field of chemoprotective research strategies, he has devoted the last 25 years to this particular project. As a result, Dr. Talalay and his team were able to devise simple cell culture methods for detecting phytochemicals which appear to boost enzymes that detoxify body carcinogens. He is also the founder of The Brassica Chemoprotection Laboratory, which is specifically dedicated to “studying edible plants that induce protective enzyme activity in the body and may help prevent cancer development.”

Dr. Talalay has published more than 300 papers in respected, international scientific journals and holds a multitude of esteemed honors. These include the Linus Pauling Institute Prize for Health & Research, appointment to one of the first lifetime Professorships of the American Cancer Society, and memberships in the National Academy of Sciences, American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
